Bob is a popular dog name in fiction, I remember loving Bob, Son of Battle and Lochinvar Luck with a dog named Bobby by Albert Payson Terhune. Terhune wrote over 20 books on collies and other dogs...some good names from his books would be Lad, Treve, Bruce, Buff, Chips. Other famous dog names in literature that might work...Buck (Call of the Wild), Nop (Nop's Trials) Joe (Beautiful Joe), Cujo, Rowf and/or Snitter (The Plague Dogs) From movies and TV, I can remember there's Einstein and Copernicus(Back to the Future), Jack (Little House), Frank (MIB), Benji, Wishbone, Spuds Mackenzie, Ubu (not sure of the show, but remember it was the clip at the end "Sit, Ubu, Sit!", many more I'm sure. Of course, there's my own semi-famous TV dog Taz too! (click my link to view him in action).

Oh I have both the book and movie for Greyfriars Bobby. by the way, every Railo version get a name of a famous dog, railo 3.1 name is "Barry" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_(dog)), Barry is pronounced ... ;-).
<cfdump var="#server.railo.versionName#">
we are open for inputs for railo 3.2 :-)
number one at the moment is Greyfriars Bobby (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greyfriars_Bobby)

@Gerald Guido: So is mine... Railo's a dog! :-)
@Sean Corfield: that bit I didn't know. So I guess Mitcha wasn't joking too much on his post. I have to admit I'm with Mark Drew and @James Allen here, as I also pronounce "rail-o" most of the time ;-)

@Mary Jo: It is indeed.
