SotR09 London - An honest review

So, I've been to Scotch On the Road 2009 here in London and will write some of my point of views on it, including some of the important things I saw there.

I want to make it clear here that all the opinions expressed herewith are solely mine, and by no means I want to be disrespectful to anyone, and hope people read my review as a constructive criticism and nothing else.

I'll split it up by topics, so people don't get lost on what I'm talking about.

iPhone skin review

This is just a quick review on an item I've recently purchased off the internet. A friend of mine recently had his iPhone's screen broken when he accidentally dropped his phone from about 10 inches high. It wasn't really a big fall, but when he took it back, the screen had a big crack.

We all know how sad these kind of things are, specially if you need to count on insurance and stuff. Basically his insurance didn't bother too much, and said it was misuse, so now he's gonna have to stay with a cracked screen iphone till the end of his contract (April 2010).

I then started to look for iphone case and ended up finding more than that. The guys over at Zagg sell a nice iphone skin to be applied to your phone that avoids any kind of scratches to it. We all know how frustrating is to have a new gadget, and suddenly have it damaged by day-to-day use.

They also have a nice range of earbuds in their website, which I'm still to try, but if the quality of it is half of what their iphone skins is, I'm sure it will be my last purchase on that.

Those guys are basically a must when it comes to gadget protection, as they also do PSP skins, GPS and even laptop protectors. I bought this skin to my iPhone and simply loved it. Now I'll order one for my laptop as well.

A handful of drivers altogether

I just keep finding stuff today, and posting here, as I'm sure I'll come back to this post in the future to grab the urls. This time, it's a very nice drivers website.

I know that normally the new OS's have drivers for everything, but if you, like me like to have as many computers as possible at home, you'll always end up needing one or other driver.

Myself for example, always end up needing epson drivers for my printer, nvidia drivers for my motherboard, or netgear drivers for my USB wireless key or ati drivers.

If you notice, I've just put links for the most common drivers people often need, but on this website you can find many many more. It's been always a fight to get drivers when I needed, but these times are well in the past now.

Website Hosting Reviews

I've just came across to this hosting review website, which specializes in webhosting reviews.

It's always a bit of pain to move servers, or find a nice provider, but this website simply brings it all to you. Basically you can go to it, and select one of their categories on the left side, and read the reviews.

As an example, let's say you were looking for the best VPS hostings of 2008. Simply look at their categories, and select "Best VPS hosting". They even do "Blog Hosting" reviews.

This is more of a note to self than anything, but I thought my readers would appreciate my tip.
