SoapBox, the new Youtube?
It seems that Microsoft has just released SoapBox.
It's basically pretty much like youtube, where you can upload your videos and people around the world can see.
The first impression (it's beta) isn't very good, as the layout really looks like a developer layout, and not a designer one. What's all that blue stuff?
For the players they use Flash. Yeah, it's right, they're using Flash and not any of the Microsoft's tools, just the simple and pure flash video with *.flv extensions.
The website performance is far better than youtube, as it's still on Beta, as they still don't have much traffic. If they keep this performance, Youtube will have to work hard to compete.
It's a shame it doesn't work on Firefox, at least on mine. Works fine on IE, but simply shows a blue screen on Firefox.
Maybe because the developers over there don't even bother about other browsers and still think that the world has been split up in two parts. Those who use IE and the others.
If you're curious about the ugly design, check it out
